This ambitious rifle, made in August & Sept. '09, was inspired by a rifle made by J Clark of Lebanon, Ohio in about 1830. This all brass version is stocked in bird's- eye maple from the same plank as the Fleeger rifle but stained in a different way. The barrel is hook fastened so the pins are hidden behind the fore-end inlays, the barrel slides foreward to disengage from the pins. The box release button is disguised as the left hand element in the toe plate engraving. A one-of-a-kind piece in the same league as the Higgins rifle.
