This .36 cal. rifle is a copy of an early John Fleeger (1808-1882)piece. Fleeger, grandson of a Revwar. Hessian deserter who joined the American army, worked in Allegheny Co., Pa. Apprentised to Thomas Allison, he married Allison's daughter in 1831. His work is among the best ever done. The evolution of the patch box reaches it's peak with Fleeger. The stock here is in bird's-eye maple. Click on "View Original" to see in full screen.
